READ MOREThe MPD-2S is a dual-disc, semi-automatic metallographic grinding and polishing machine. Its dual-station design supports simultaneous operation by two users, significantly boosting sample preparation efficiency. It is primarily used for the pre-grinding, fine grinding, and polishing of various metal metallographic samples, producing flat, damage-free surfaces suitable for subsequent metallographic observation and analysis.
The main unit is powered by a 750W motor equipped with a variable frequency drive (VFD) for stepless speed control. The grinding/polishing discs operate within a speed range of 0–1500 rpm and support both clockwise and counter-clockwise rotation, allowing for flexible speed adjustments based on abrasive grit size and sample material. It is paired with an MPT semi-automatic grinding/polishing head (400W power, 10–120 rpm rotation speed) that utilizes a spiral pressurization mechanism. Pressure at the single station can be precisely adjusted between 0 and 40N, and the unit can hold 1–3 samples at a time, enabling simultaneous grinding and polishing. This minimizes surface variations caused by manual handling and ensures greater consistency in sample preparation.
